On this trip I was in Madrid exactly two days and spent the time in three museums: the Thyssen Bornemisza (works of many historial artists, including Caravaggio's 'Saint Catherine of Alexandrea'), the Reina Sofia (Picasso's 'Guernica') and mostly the Prado (One of the world's great museums.). The Prado has the largest collection of paintings by Velazquez, my favorite artist. I studied at great length his 'The God Mars' (below) and I am still puzzled with the shaded orangish-brown strip down his right chest.
London reintroduced me to The National Gallery. My favorite on this visit was 'The Toilet of Venus' by, my man, Velazquez (below).
